The ICE agent killing in Maine has ignited widespread concern after a federal immigration officer shot and killed a man in Biddeford on Monday, despite the victim not being the target of the operation. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed the incident, which occurred just days after a similar fatal shooting in Texas.
Details of the Maine ICE Shooting
According to DHS, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers were conducting surveillance on the last known address of an illegal alien with a final order of removal. When a vehicle left the residence, agents attempted a stop, but the driver fled. Fearing for public safety, an officer discharged his weapon, killing the driver.
