A 14-year-old student at Debsirin Nonthaburi school northwest of Bangkok killed his grandparents before opening fire on classmates and teachers. The attack left five dead at the school and the attacker took his own life, with more than 30 injured, nine critically.

The suspected shooter used a gun belonging to his grandfather, firing at least 26 bullets and carrying 34 additional rounds. Police confirmed the attacker remained inside the school for about half an hour before the lockdown was lifted.

The incident has shocked a country already struggling with gun violence, prompting calls for immediate action on firearm access and mental health support for youth.
