Prince Harry and Meghan are moving back to Britain this month, marking a significant royal return after six years in the United States. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with their children Archie and Lilibet, are expected to relocate to a non-royal residence outside London, with the children enrolled to start school in September.
The Royal Return: Key Details
According to reports, King Charles was informed of the decision on Sunday, and the Prince and Princess of Wales have also been notified. The couple will retain their homes in Montecito, California, and Portugal, but will now spend more time in the UK. This move comes after a reunion with the king at Highgrove last month, signaling a potential thaw in relations.

Security Concerns and Legal Battles
Prince Harry has long expressed concerns about security for his family in the UK. In May 2025, after losing a legal challenge, he stated he couldn't see a world where he would bring his wife and children back. However, recent developments suggest a change of heart. The couple's security arrangements have not been disclosed, but this remains a critical issue.
Reconciliation with the Royal Family
In a BBC interview, Prince Harry said he would love a reconciliation with his family, having forgiven them for past disagreements. This move back to Britain could be a step toward healing the rift. The king is said to welcome the opportunity to see more of his family in a personal capacity, though their status as private individuals remains unchanged.
