These air fryer sausages come out golden on the outside and juicy on the inside with barely any oil at all. The air fryer does most of the work, so you get a fuss-free main dish that is ready in about 20 minutes from start to finish.

Sausages already carry enough fat to cook beautifully, so a single teaspoon of olive oil is all you need to help them brown. The one thing to remember is flipping them halfway through so they color evenly on every side.

Serve them hot with your favorite sauce for an extra hit of flavor, or add white rice to turn them into a more complete meal. Either way, this is the kind of effortless cooking that works any night of the week.

How to Make Air Fryer Sausages Step by Step

1. Separate and prick the sausages

Start by removing the string and separating the 12 pork sausages if you bought them linked together. Then prick each sausage with the tip of a knife so they do not split open during cooking.

2. Arrange them in the basket and add oil

Place the sausages in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not crowded or stacked on top of each other so the air can circulate and cook them evenly. Spray them with 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil.

3. Cook at 180 ºC, turning halfway

Set the air fryer to 180 ºC for 12 minutes. After the first 6 minutes, turn the sausages over so they brown evenly, then continue cooking for the remaining 6 minutes until they are golden outside and juicy yet fully cooked inside.

4. Serve

Serve the sausages freshly made with your favorite sauce: homemade tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard or mayonnaise.

Tips for the Best Air Fryer Sausages

Keep the oil minimal

Sausages usually contain enough fat to cook well on their own, so a small amount of oil is all you need. A light spray of olive oil helps them brown without turning greasy.

Give them space

Do not pile the sausages on top of each other in the basket. Leaving room for the hot air to move around is what gives you even, uniform browning.

Flip at the halfway point

The only real trick is turning them once during cooking. That simple step is what makes them perfectly golden and juicy on all sides.
