The Bill Gates Foundation conducted roughly 30 meetings with Jeffrey Epstein between 2011 and 2014, according to a new external review commissioned by the foundation. The review, released on Tuesday, examined the foundation's engagements with the disgraced financier following renewed scrutiny from the justice department's release of millions of Epstein-related documents earlier this year.
Key Findings of the Gates Foundation Review
The law firm WilmerHale conducted over 50 interviews with current and former foundation personnel, including Bill Gates himself, and reviewed extensive written materials. The summary states that no evidence was found of the foundation's participation in or knowledge of Epstein's sex trafficking operations or criminal activities. Additionally, there was no evidence that the foundation was contemporaneously aware of Epstein using the foundation's name to advance his conduct, nor that Epstein was paid by the foundation.

Scope and Timeline of Meetings
The review identified approximately 30 meetings between Epstein and foundation leaders and staff, including Bill Gates, between 2011 and 2014. Foundation staff had reportedly raised concerns about the risks of associating with Epstein due to his prior conviction. The foundation has publicly stated it regrets any employee interactions with Epstein and commissioned this review in March after the document release.
