Liverpool secured a narrow 1-0 pre-season victory over Wrexham at Yankee Stadium, with Rio Ngumoha scoring the decisive goal. The young winger's deflected strike in the 75th minute was enough to give new head coach Andoni Iraola a second consecutive win on the tour.
Match Summary: A Tight Contest in New York
The match was played in front of 42,204 fans at the iconic baseball stadium, but neither side could find much rhythm early on. Liverpool, forced into an experimental lineup due to travel disruptions and injuries, struggled to break down a disciplined Wrexham defense.

Ngumoha, introduced as a second-half substitute, provided the spark. His shot looped in off Wrexham defender Lewis Brunt, much to the delight of the Liverpool supporters in attendance. Wrexham's Hollywood owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, watched from the stands but could not inspire a comeback.
Pre-Match Disruptions and Team News
Liverpool's preparations were far from ideal. Their flight from Chicago was cancelled on Tuesday night due to poor weather, delaying their arrival in New York until midday on game day. Key players like Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak, and Ryan Gravenberch did not travel, as they are still building fitness after the World Cup.
With Joe Gomez injured and Federico Chiesa ill, Iraola fielded a young side, with six starters lacking Premier League experience. Among them was highly-rated prospect Joshua Abe, who committed his future to Liverpool earlier this month.
